He's had many of these. There's Andy, of course, and a short-lived "Baby Beluga" from the song by Raffi. A nickname that has stuck around is "Callou", after the PBS kids' show character (he's also a bald haired little guy). "Callou" became shortened to just "Kye", which we like. It carries well.
Auntie Jess gave Andy the name "Little" (it was her and Trevor's term of endearment). Jess and Trev also call each other "Little Best Friend". Jess has been known to walk in the door and squeal, "How's my little best friend?!?", but Mike and I think that's going a bit too far.
Now there's a name we got from Romina, Andy's godmother. While holding him recently, she noticed a ring of grime trapped in his generous baby neck-folds. (It was a hot day, and he'd been outside...yes I sometimes do wash my child.) "There's a word for this in Spanish," she told us, "Rona." Mike and I thought it was too funny that there is a special word for this entrapment of dirt in the skinfolds. So we often point out to Andy his "Rona", but along the way, have started calling him "Rona". We like the way it rolls off our tongue.
I don't think we'd take to calling him "dirt ring" in English, but you never know.
